My 3rd time up Nebo wasn't going to be the same ol' same ol'. I knew my next summit of this Wasatch Front favorite would be a full traverse of all three of these 11ers…actually four: North Peak (11,174′), Main Nebo (11,928′), Middle Nebo (11,824′) and South Nebo (11,877′). The weather was perfect and not too many people on this holiday weekend (July 2nd). We buzzed right on up to North Peak in an hour and a half (3.4 miles, 2,074′ of elevation), then on to main Nebo an hour later (4.8 miles, 3,384′). After a few pictures, we continued on to Middle Nebo (5.5 miles, 3,538′) and finally South Nebo (6 miles, 3,770′). With a successful traverse across the top in about 4 hours, we dropped down onto the Nebo Bench trail for the return back to the car. The traverse along the lower part of this mountain is pretty rugged. Weaving in and out of each basin and across deep ravines added another 1,600′ of elevation for a total of 5,383′ for the day. This big loop turned out to be 15 miles that was completed in 9h 13m. What a great day!!
