Arriving at the trailhead shortly before 8 am I found plenty of parking. It pays to hike on a weekday. I headed up, solo as always. I made that saddle in usual time and then started up to Cucamonga. Great weather made for a beautiful climb. It had been a few years since I’ve hike this peak and I forgot how much of climb it was. That, coupled with a lack of conditioning hikes over the past several weeks made it a tough one. By the time I made it down my feet were killing me and I was just glad to be done. Even a painful day hiking beats a day in the office.
