I am so happy to be back in my hiking boots and starting this  6-Peak Challenge which is right in my back yard! Its interesting to discover all of these hikes the are in the San Diego area. I got a late start from my house in Chula Vista and got started around 11:00 AM. I wasn't worried about my time until I reach a sign posted about 2 miles b before the summit that gave a warning about the parking lot closing at 5:30pm.  I had plenty of time but I did wish I had started earlier so I could have enjoyed the summit and maybe explore the area a little more.

I was pleased with this hike's distance and elevation gain. This was not an easy walking trail. Another hiker described this hike as “Up Both Ways!” and I completely agree!  It was an overcast day, but the sky did clear up enough to see the bay and the other peaks in the area.
