I started around 9 am at smith rock state park. There were a lot of people in the smith rock section of this hike. Once I hit Burma road the people thinned out. Burma road is pretty steep! At Burma road the trail goes a few different ways. I took the gray butte trail. After Burma road its pretty chill until you come up to the butte itself. There’s a cool little viewpoint about 3/4 of the way up, towards the west, the trail forks Either towards the viewpoint or up to the summit. I checked out that viewpoint then headed up. Close to the top the trail turns into an old road, I took that to the summit. It’s super steep!! The descent is intense. I followed the same trail until I came across the Burma road fork and decided to take the smith rock summit trail. That was cool, although to save time I took the misery ridge trail back, due to me being a bit worn out already (and me being a bit out of shape) That was intense. Awesome views all the way around and an awesome hike too. I’m looking forward to the next one
