It seems like the odds were against us to get to the trailhead. We were stuck in 3 construction zones and one traffic break at 3:00am. Who would have thought we'd be stuck before we even began. But, nothing would stop us. So, it took us 3 hours to get to Idyllwild. We hit the trail about 6:15am. I know we are slow hikers, we take too many pictures and we socialize A LOT, but the hike took us 15 hours. The trail was probably my favorite trail. We stopped many times to take in the views. The trail was hiking friendly.Challenging but not too technical. We got to try out our headlamps since we finished in the dark. Good experience for our next endeavor which is Whitney. More traffic on our way home, even at 11PM but we made it. 24 hours after waking up, I fell into bed exhausted but in awe of what I had experienced.
