Well, prepare for wind! Lots of it. Especially as you hit the bottom of the last tree line. We were tempted to turn around, but with only 1 mile to the top, we pushed through and were rewarded for the effort with a 360 view of the beauty that is Arizona. The good news is that though the wind will gust like a beast at times, the trail is so windy that a reprieve is never too far. This is a steady uphill grind, but with gorgeous views and cool weather, it’s worth the effort. For the running enthusiast, this trail has some great places to enjoy hiking at a jog.
