Even though weather conditions didn't allow for the traditional long-distance views from the peak the rolling fog and clouds provided a unique and memorable experience. Also, with the previously burned areas now showing encouraging signs of renewal the widely varied micro-systems made for captivation ever-changing flora presentations. The one mile section closest to the parking lot offered a sense of rainforest type setting that contrasted to the dryer upper sections of the mountain.
