This is the 3rd time I have hiked up High Point. First time was in fall. Lots of amazing fall colors, but I got hit with fog at the top, and didn’t see any views. Second time was last weekend. The trail was covered in snow, and although my boats are waterproof, hiking uphill in snow is a mission. It got the best of me and I had to turn back just before mile 5. This time was just about Perfect! Keep in mind- the first .6 miles is pretty easy. From mile .6 to mile 2 is a continuous uphill that does not let up. I don’t recommend for a first timer. After mile 2, the rest of the way is a gradual climb. There are a few steep portions, but nothing as hard as that first section. It’s even tricky going downhill so be careful! Trekking poles help! At mile 6 I hit a patch of snow, that reminded me of the week prior, but I was determined to complete! It only lasted a half mile, but it was rough.! The top is absolutely gorgeous, and it’s was even more surreal as this was my last peak to complete. 6 down! And now it’s time to venture onto a new list! I hope you enjoy this peak!
