It was a crisp — actually chilly — SoCal day with bright and beautiful sun and the stunning blue skies I love so much as we started at the trailhead. Access hs been spotty and we haven't gotten to this part of the mountains since last year. I cannot wait for the 2 to open again and it was quite bizarre to stare at the road closed signed near the Vincent Gap trailhead. Hike was beautiful and happily uneventful. It did get chillier and windier as we got to the peak. Perhaps most exciting was the bighorn sheep that I saw relatively close up. It hustled away before my healing buddies could see it. What a majestic beast! I feel so thrilled that they still wander freely in the mountains so close to our not-so-humble metropolis. Overall the trail was in great shape and I enjoyed our hustle up and down the mountain. See you next year Mount Baden-Powell!
