Gorgeous weather on Memorial Day. Started at 5 am, up Bowl/ski hut side. Used crampons on & off, as there’s still large snow fields to cross. Hit the summit at 10am…hence my hike name, Inchworm, lol. Hey! It’s not a death march, slow & easy does it!
felt good at the summit, so decided to go down Devils Backbone and do a loop! There’s only small patches of snow left, no need for spikes or crampons on Devils Backbone, but part of the backbone did get washed off with the snow melt, sketchy, but doable. Had to help out a girl, who got stuck scared. Got to The Notch by 1pm for a cold beer! So good! Had an amazing time on the mountain, and the weather was perfect. Cheers!
