Peak #6 of the Bay Area Challenge complete. My hiking partner and I got to the Rhus Ridge Trailhead just after 6am and began the hike right around 6:22am. Temps were very mild. Maybe in the upper 50's or low 60's. There was only one other person there at the trailhead. He took off just before we did, but we didn't see him the remainder of the morning.
The trail is pretty easy to follow. Its a dirt road for the first portion of the hike and then turns into a single track trail for a few miles, which turns back into a dirt road for the final mile to the summit. We recorded right at 4.9 miles to the summit. On our descent we decided to take a quick trip over to Elephant Mountain and an extra loop down and back up to the Mary Henry Memorial, which without the loop is right off the trail. We just wanted to add a few miles.
Even with the added 2.7 miles (Total 12.5), we were up and down in 4 hours and 24 minutes. Pretty easy day and trail.
