Beautiful day for a hike, temperatures were low with cloud cover to start. Immediately greeted with wildflowers, single trek for a majority of the way up to Oaks Peak. Nice easy climb to Oaks, quick break and on to Alan Peak. This is certainly the path less traveled, high grass levels as the trail narrowed. POISON OAK was abundant on this trail; long pants highly recommended. We actually stopped .2 miles from Alan peak due to the amount of poison oak we would have had to subject ourselves too. You’re in for a treat towards the top of this mountain, the trees are gorgeous! The sun had come out by the time we started our trek down and out with the sun, came the snakes, x2. We stripped as soon as we got the car to avoid transferring oils from the poison oak. Lovely day on the trail.
