Started 9am, beautiful sunny sky with the occasional clouds floating by. Perfect hiking weather for such a challenging elevation gain; just a bit cold, but no wind or rain and with proper gear no problem. Hiking poles are a must here.
My hiking buddy and I only saw 3 hikers, all solo and the last one just before Williams Gulch, surprising given what a beautiful day it was. 11 hours total, but only because the last 3 in the dark which was challenging even with headlamps because no moon and very steep and winding descents
