The trail was in great shape with a lot of recent maintenance to the lower half. The upper half could definitely use some attention but all in all it was good. The upper half had a lot of overgrowth and branches that kept hitting my head. The weather was pretty good. Could've used a few degrees cooler and maybe some wind.. I definitely wasn't prepared mentally for this hike. I went into it thinking it would be super easy but it was actually one of the tougher hikes I've done. I've hit all the big summits like San Gorgonio, San Jacinto and Baldy but Mount Wilson definitely is a contender. Don't let the lower elevation fool you. This trail is really tough. I'm glad I did this hike. It was a real beautiful trail. Walking around the observatory property was amazing with great views. I started later than most which made it a little warmer on the way up but it was perfect on the way down because I was on the shaded side of the mountain the entire time. I'll definitely do this again. I'll be uploading more photos and videos on my social media. You can check it out on Facebook, Instagram and and YouTube under TravOnTheTeail.
