Beautiful day for a hike! Clear skies and about 80 degrees. You really don’t feel the heat because 90% of the hike is covered with shade????. This was my first time doing the Mt. Wilson hike, and honestly it was a little harder than I expected. If you have trekking poles I would recommend bringing them! Luckily my cousin and I found some walking sticks in the woods. It took my cousin and I about 4 hours to reach the top via the Chantry Flats trail, and that’s with a little pit stop at Sturdevant Falls. By the time we reached the top I was exhausted haha. I need to do a better job of training! We had some vegan sausages and ice cold beer at the top as a treat (I use a 32 oz hydro flask and fill it with my favorite beer) All in all the day was a huge success! This was a beautiful hike and totally worth all of the exhaustion! We can’t wait to conquer our next summit!
p.s make sure to bring some bug spray!
