Last week I participated in the Climb For Heroes event at Mt. Baldy and had planned on that being my sixth summit. It was a awesome event and a fun hike with great people. However due to the conditions the hike didn't go all the way to the summit, so I was unable to bag peak #6. Initially I was going to do Saddleback this weekend, but at the last minute decided on tackling Wilson instead.
This was my first time hiking the Mt. Wilson trail and the first half to Orchard Camp is a very pleasant hike. The next 1.5-2 miles is climb and will get your heart pumping for sure. The last 2 miles was a breeze and has some awesome views of the San Gabriels along the way.
The weather was perfect and was very happy to experience the summit with no wind.
