This hike was awesome! Not only did we get to hike up an awesome trail, but it brought back memories for me going up to Newcomb's Ranch on my motorcycle. We went up via Red Box, and the trail head is now much more obvious as seen in the first pic. The first part was fairly easy, but after you hit the saddle the real fun begins. Love the climb and rugged terrain. Brought my dog along and she thoroughly enjoyed it. She either wanted to lead, or hurried us along.
At the top, met some members of 3H. Super nice peeps, and made our stay at the summit better. Thank you 3H!
As we headed back down we debated on what we were going to eat after the hike. We chose The Great White Hut off of Sunland Blvd. It was super tasty and we will definitely be going back to eat there.
Two notes for me. I wore my trail runners, but I should've wore my light mid hike boots. I felt it would've been much better on the rugged climb and descent. Also this trail looks like it would be an absolute blast to trail run. I will definitely be going back.
