The steep ravine trail was foggy and wet. At times it was hard to tell if it was raining or if the heavy water drops were falling from the pine trees that were soaked, it was cold under the foggy steep ravine trail. Layer up just in case. The fog was an issue, I could not see the Pacific ocean from the top, only a wall of fog. On the way down, part of he matt Davis trail was Sunny', and the vegetation was different. Lots of flowers still blooming. Oh, and there are beautiful wild orchids on the steep ravine trail. Runners were annoying, they would not stop even when there were several people on a very narrow trail. One of them kept saying, “to your left, to your left” So I said ” gonna have to stay back there, I'm sure you see a lot of people on this narrow trail” he said, “you are right*. So needles to say there was heavy foot traffic in narrow trails. The signage is very confusing but if you pay attention to the details, you'll find the trail. It took us 8 hours and 37 mins to complete the hike. But we took our time, took pictures tools 3 10mins breaks for snacks. Even though we were tired at the end, it was a very relaxing hike.
