Finished my week in Arizona with a summit of Humphreys Peak which stands at 12,633 feet and is the highest peak in Arizona. My 7th summit this week.
Today's hike was 10.51 miles and 3,765 feet in elevation gain.
Still some snow left on the mountain, but it is melting fast. I was wearing my Trail Runners which have about 400+ miles on them, so my traction on the icy packed snow was limited. Once I hit 10,400 feet I decided to put on my microspikes. They allowed me to travel a little faster with no slippage.
It was a perfect day on the mountain. Temps were in the mid-30's to start. Probably about mid-40's at the summit and right around 60 degrees when I got back to my truck.
Clear skies all the way and zero wind made for an awesome day!
