Finished my week in Arizona with a summit of Humphreys Peak which stands at 12,633 feet and is the highest peak in Arizona. My 7th summit this week. 🙂
Today's hike was 10.51 miles and 3,765 feet in elevation gain.
Still some snow left on the mountain, but it is melting fast. I was wearing my Trail Runners which have about 400+ miles on them, so my traction on the icy packed snow was limited. Once I hit 10,400 feet I decided to put on my microspikes. They allowed me to travel a little faster with no slippage.
It was a perfect day on the mountain. Temps were in the mid-30's to start. Probably about mid-40's at the summit and right around 60 degrees when I got back to my truck.
Clear skies all the way and zero wind made for an awesome day!
