We hiked the Welch-Dicky Loop the day after hiking up Mount Chocoura. Not sure this was the best idea – starting off the hiking season and the Six Peak Challenge with two peak hikes in a row. My legs were a bit sore after hiking up Mount Chocoura, and significantly sorer after this hike. The weather was cooler on this day/hike, thank goodness. Another beautiful day with beautiful views. There were long sections of scrambling up and down granite slabs, which made this hike interesting. Going up not a problem (albeit steep) but going down was a little precarious in some sections. Shoes with good traction are a must! Bugs were a bit of an annoyance on this hike as well. We came across this “little” guy on the trail (see picture #2). Anyone know what type of snake it is? It kind of looks like a Eastern Milk Snake, but not quite.
