This was my second visit and I was much faster in spite of soaking in the panorama and lollygagging over the flora and fauna. I was also warmer and more familiar than the last time. The wildflowers are in bloom at every step and the lizards, bees, and butterflies were busy doing their business. The views were more clear even with the drift smoke/haze being visible from the 6,500+/- acre wildfire in Warm Springs 45 miles to the north. One peak down and five more to go! Will need to get to the top of the others when forest service roads open and snow pack at higher elevations is reduced. Or maybe I should get micro-spikes, so I can witness how those peaks change with return visits?
