Instead of the out and back, I decided to make this an overnight and I did the full loop recommended by the rangers. I started my hike late probably around 1pm and didn't make it to sizer until about 7pm. I camped in Blue ridge which was dispersed camping and due to my late start didn't have a lot of time to pick a good spot. It was a tough hike from middle ridge to Blue ridge. But there was a bench at Blue ridge. Unfortunately all the bugs seemed obsessed by me and I was never left alone. The hike out on jackass trail is a little tricky because it's overgrown and the ranger had warned about ticks but it was beautiful at times.
