Intermittent snow – not hard to cross

It was already warm at 5:30am on July 3rd. Lots of bugs throughout, but bug spray seemed to help. It got windy on the way down so that kept the bugs away and made it much cooler. There are several patches of snow on the trail but no microspikes necessary. Just take your time if gets slushy. There’s a decent amount of shade up until the last 1/2 mile or so. The bathrooms in the parking lot are open.
