Hiking on one of the hottest days of the year may not always be recommended, but last weekend, my son and I took on Baden-Powell despite the 95+ degree day.
The trail was dusty, but in good shape – and while we saw plenty of other hikers, compared to a nice spring or fall day, the trail was relatively quiet.
Despite the heat, the breeze was nice, and the lower, shaded switchbacks were comfortable. And since the trail was pretty quiet, we were able to grab some lunch in the shade when we hit the top.
Don't always recommend hot hikes, but this day was very pleasant.
