Getting to Baden-Powell via the Islip Saddle trailhead is a great way to get to the top, although it's quite long and the climb is up and down. Alternatively you can hit a few other peaks along the way. Mt Hawkins, Throop Peak and Mt Burnham are generally optionalk, but with ice and snow we had to hit Bernham twice.
This is the earliest in the season I've ever completed this route and hitting Powell for that matter. For the most part it was relatively safe, but we did wear micro-spikes for a good portion of the day. Glad I gave it a shot, but wow was is a tough day.
