Great hike today. Lot of snow and ice on the trail. Especially coming down to Vincent Gap. Had to put on microspikes at about the three mile in from Islip Saddle. It was cold and windy most of the hike. Conditions during the day were perfect for snow hiking. However, after about 3pm the strong gale winds and colder temps made the hike to the peak a bit treacherous, if you didn't have crampons and microspikes. We ended up hiking just under 13 miles and had just over a 4000′ total elevation gain.
