Beginning of the trail to the lodge is cake, very well shaded and gradual slope. After that it gets steeper until you hit the devil's backbone. Some exposed sections that were fun. Then the final push to the summit kills you with the loose gravel and rocks. The views from the top are gorgeous and you could just barely make out the DTLA skyline, what a view! Loved the whole hike. The cheeseburger at the lodge was a nice pitstop on the way back and one of my hiking buddies took the ski-lift down. All in all a classic day in the park.
