Hiked up Baldy via the Ski Hut. This is always a rather challenging hike (approximately my 15th time). It is basically 4.2 miles up and almost 4K elevation gain. It was a beautiful day for a hike. Apparently, the day before we hiked there was a decent amount of snow, but we only had a couple of easy to pass snow fields to cross on the steep portion before the ridge. I would imagine that after 10 days, there is almost no snow up there now.
I love this hike, but it always has a mix of experienced and inexperienced hikers. I almost got knocked over while climbing up, by someone that was running down thinking they have the right of way…hit me in the shoulder and kept going with nothing more than oops out of their mouth. I really wish people would learn trail etiquette. Another thing that I am seeing as a trend lately on most of these hikes, are the numerous dog owners with their dogs running out in front of them without a leash.
