Trailhead:

Manker Flats

Type of Hike:

Day hike

Trail Conditions:

Trail in good condition

ROAD:

Road suitable for all vehicles

Bugs:

Bugs were not too bad

Snow:

Intermittent snow – not hard to cross

Strong winds on the Backbone.  Mount Harwood almost blew me over. Met two hikers who turned around due to strong winds.  The rest of the hike was minimal wind and very pleasant. Some snow crossings and creeks coming down the trail but all easy and passable without spikes. took me 7 hours.  Nice dip in San Antonio Falls at the end.  Had a nice sunny rock shelter at the top for a trail mix lunch.  Nice view of the clouds in the valley.  Great wildflowers.
