I started the hike at 4 am. Register Ridge is always hard, but it seemed it got steeper since I last went up there. No issues with snow, but furious winds. I originally wanted to start an hour early to make it for Sunrise, but I overslept. Anyway, did not need micro spikes until about 600 feet below the summit, but they became essential, especially in the early morning hour with hard snow and ice. Returned via Baldy Bowl trail, and on this side I needed the spikes all the way to ski hut. There was an amazing red sun rise (which of course I missed from the top) but still got to enjoy.
