Weather was perfect on this beautiful May day.  We arrived at the trailhead at approximately 6:30 a.m. and the lot at Chantry Flat was full.  We parked down the road a bit and walked to the trailhead.  This is my second time hiking this trail to Mt. Wilson (2017 6 pack challenger).  The trail was beautiful and bug free until Sturtevant Camp, after that they were horrible!! Thank goodness we had brought bug nets, they were a life saver!! If you plan to do this hike anytime in the near future get yourself a bug net (Big 5, Walmart, REI) you will be so thankful you did!! I am a slow hiker so it took me approximately 4 1/2 hours to get to the top.  The Cosmic Cafe is open, but be prepared because the line is long and only one person was working. Probably best to bring your own lunch so you can enjoy your time at the top.  All in all it was a good day.  This hike is no joke, it's tough!
