With the forecast looking questionable, I decided to do the peak closest to home as fast as possible. 2 1/2 hour drive each way (live in CT), arrived at the trailhead at noon. Made it up in 2 hours despite crushing humidity, down in under 90 minutes. Very weird feeling to rise out from the woods, dirty, sweaty, and smelly only to be surrounded by clean people who drove up! This trail is very rocky most of the time, and the rocks were all wet which slowed my pace as to be cautious. Lots of little side trails that can take you around larger, slippery stone that otherwise would be a fall risk. Utilized these on the way down. All in all a decent hike. One of my dogs hiked with me. We only saw 3 other groups on the trail the whole hike. Made it home with 20 mins to spare before the storm!
