The road to the TH is full of potholes, with few down trees, but you can drive around safely. Got to the TH just before 9am on Friday, only few cars in sight. Hike to the summit took 2 hours. Snow starts after 1 mile, then its snow all the way up. Snow booth path is visible and easy to follow. Spikes and poles were tremendous help. Trail pretty much goes straight up and you can see your final destination from far away. Couple dicey narrow bridges and snow fields to cross, navigate through down trees and rocks. I recommend going around to the left and take the ladder up to the lookout tower instead of going straight up on the boulders. Tower is open, or more like recently broken into. Incredible views around of Mt. Baker, Mt. Rainier, Olympics and Glacier Peak. It was very hot today, and snow started to becoming slushy even on the way up. We had the summit to our selves for about 15 minutes. On the way down, we encountered around 30 people heading up. Only few had micro-spikes or poles, some were just hiking in sneakers. There are definitely few slippery spots and spikes and poles really helped navigating around. Got back to the TH just before 1pm. On the way down, we noticed parking lot for Heather Lake being super crowded, about 100 cars parked there and down the road!
