This hike was special as it marked the summit of my 9th mountain in this year's Six Pack of Peaks series. I had never spent any time near Mount Bailey before, and it was so fun to be hiking in an area new to me. The weather was perfect! This peak seemed to have a steady but mild climb almost all the way up – until the end, that is! The last part (maybe a mile or so) ramped right up with steep elevation and scree. It was a little sketchy in a few areas. It was worth it though; the views were spectacular!
