Beautiful trail. Lots of shade and ascent isn't too hard, especially if you take your time. That said, glad I brought my poles, particularly with a heavy pack. A little windy at the peak, but lovely desert views make it all worth while.
There are a few downed trees over the path along the way, so be prepared to get nimble at times. Car park was already half full by 6am on Saturday morning and by the time I descended, parked cars were spilling out all over the roads and the trail started to feel a little crowded, so suggest getting in early on weekend.
