Castle Valley Road isn’t really passable by vehicle. Some bigger trucks can get a little further up it but it is rather muddy in places where one could get a vehicle stuck easily, other places had lots of snow, whereas other areas were clear. It was a long this road the mosquitos were bad. Once on the actual trail it was extremely clear and the bugs disappeared. Many species of wildflowers blooming and breathing views. This was a great day hike with other friends doing this challenge. The weather was fantastic, but I am glad we started in the morning instead of waiting until the temps increased later in the day as once on the trail you are pretty exposed to the sun.
