Started up 7:45AM, upper 60's (F) and made summit 9:45AM; seemed to be easier than previous summit 4 years ago, but memories play tricks. Summit was perhaps upper 50's with stiff wind, but not strong enough to blow one off course. Cooler air was refreshing after ascent. Stellar day, not a cloud for 100 miles, but so many people making the ascent as I went back down. Driving back into Flagstaff was saddened by the sight of a new wildfire (had not seen this during hike), and quickly learned by radio was definitely a wildfire and had been called in by towers. Later to be known as ‘museum fire' it quickly erupted and spread east from winds, taking out so many great recreational trails with it.
Prayers of safety for all firefighters and those in the fire's path.
Summit 4 of 6 complete!
