Clay was slick, mud was thick, we straddled the ravin to pass (see photos). Snow was easy – I was in trail runners, but poles helped (throughout the hike). Three false peaks if just using the trails as your guide. Map was useful were there was snow and one portion of the trail had some branches obstructing it. No sign or marker at the top but the views were magnificent. Oh, and the wildflowers! So pretty with the snow on the ridge in the background. Way down was dried out a lot, so much easier. Tip: trailhead starts between the Affleck campground sign and site #36. Park on the road, added maybe a 1/2 mile one way (I start my tracker when I exit my car). Have fun on that last climb out of the campsite, I had forgot about it (sigh) and thought I was done with hill climbs , nope.
