A bit of a confusing drive to the trailhead from Diamond Lake but we finally found it! Signage not very good. A beautiful hike through the hemlock and pine at lower elevations. Once you get above the tree line, you are climbing along a ridge and then around the back side of the ridge. The trail can be a bit sketchy in spots so sure footedness is required…and poles! Once you clamber over the ridge you're once again hiking along the spine of the mountain all the way to the summit. Once at the summit, you have a full on frontal view of Mt Thielsen and Diamond Peak. It's stunning and a great spot to linger for lunch. It was a warm cloudless day and the smoke was minimal. Our feet were definitely tired on the way down!
