Interesting hike. Decided to go with my daughter and take a road less travelled via Register Ridge. The ascent was super steep but manageable. Beautiful views. The trail connects with the Devil's Backbone and from there it's up via the switchbacks to the top. The last part was easy compared to the previous 3 miles in which we had already 3000 feet elevation gain (1700 feet in mile 2!)
Mt Baldy peak offered amazing views and great camaraderie from other fellow hikers. It was a celebration mood!!
We got a sip of our She Can Sav Blanc to mark peak 3 of 6 and decided to hike down via Devil's Backbone to The Notch.
Hiking down was super cool. This famous trail did not disappoint – panoramic views and narrow steep path. I loved it. But my daughter was getting tired and feeling blisters on her foot. So after reaching the Notch we took a luxury route down via the ski lift. It was a great decision and a fun ride.
