Arrived at the trailhead early enough to be the second car in the parking lot to beat the crowds and the heat… and hopefully the bugs. The monsoon storms a have yet to arrive and it has been hot during the day even in the high country. This was the first time I’ve done this hike in the dry summer of AZ as normally I’ve hiked it in late summer (AZ wet summer) or early fall so it was a very different experience and just as wonderful.
