I’m grateful for the Six Pack of Peaks Challenge, both for the opportunity to explore new peaks, but also to revisit previous ones. It’s been more than 30 years since the last time I was on Bill Williams Mtn., and it was as great as I remembered.
Conditions were clear under azure skies, with warmer temperatures (70s, 80s) made comfortable with an invigorating breeze, as well as a canopy of ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, white fir, and aspens. There were some wildflowers along the trail, most notably beautiful golden columbine. The trail is well-maintained, and brisk winds kept the bugs at bay.
