This hike was bittersweet. I was thrilled to summit Cucamonga Peak but felt concerned that they haven't found the missing hiker Carlos Monay who has been missing since 9/4/22. Witnessing search and rescue from Orange, Riverside and Los Angeles counties on air and majority of them hiking off trail was quite an experience. I will be forever grateful of their service. Conversation on the trail was that they are most likely doing a recovery of the body but I am hoping for a better outcome.

Besides the search and rescue, the trail was amazing and we had a great weather window. When we arrived at the peak around 12:30pm I was surprise that the peak was not as crowded as the other times I summited the peak. It was so peaceful. We had an amazing view of San Jacinto and San Gorgonio.
