Road rough but passable

Bugs were not too bad

The last mile to the trailhead is a little rough but passable. I started early enough there weren't many people on my way up, but lots of crowds on my way down. It was a little cloudy so didn't get the views of all the mountains, but still overall a beautiful hike and it wasn't too smokey out.
