Another bluebird day in Central Oregon with gorgeous views from the summit. Parking was easy at the lower trailhead, trails were not crowded. Lots of wildflowers and birds. We followed the Bill Sullivan route and thought the description of the lower trailhead loop included the upper trailhead to the summit. Expected a 6.2 mile hike with 1750 feet elevation gain but ended up with a 10.6 mile hike with 3300 feet elevation gain. We were a bit underfueled but the views from the top were fantastic.
