This hike was an adventure for sure, the trail starts off in the forest rising gently, and intermittently opens up where the valley below is easily visible. The first mile of the trail has no issues, there was one large fallen tree in the way but it is easy to cross, the next 1.7 miles to the top get a lot steeper and now you’re walking on loose-ish rocks instead of sure ground. There was still some snow patches, but they weren’t too hard to cross. In the last mile there is clear evidence of a recent rockslide that covered some of the trail in bigger rocks that must be walked over. When I did this hike the wind was intense for the whole journey, with gusts over 30 miles per hour that would move me around if I wasn’t on sure footing, this wind was the only major obstacle during my summit journey. At the top the views were stunning, and the return journey was much of the same as the way up. A fun hike despite the wind!
