This hike was tough but very interesting. The views from the top were breathtaking!

We started the hike around noon, temperature was in the 90’s, pretty hot. Most of the hike was through a forest fire burn area from 2017. It was very interesting to hike through. Most all of the trees were burned, however we were encouraged to see some seedlings had been replanted in the lower area.

Closer to the top the trail got steeper and there were a few meadows. At the top it was open and breezy. My favorite moment was when we arrived at the top and all of the sudden the 3 Sisters came into view- Wow! Beautiful views of Mt Washington also.

It was fun to meet Melanie, who is also doing both the Washington and Oregon 6 Pack of Peaks- she took our picture at the trailhead before the hike! Thanks Melanie!
