Our hike began from a neighborhood that connected to the Chemise trail and then to Black Mnt. There was a steep incline right off the bat, which served as a warning for how the rest would feel. Much of the trail had shady spots,  until we got towards the top where it was mostly exposed. An early start is a must – the parking lot at the PG&E trailhead was full at 7:20am on a Sat. – which is how we ended up at Laura Ct. The trails are beautifully kept and are definitely challenging. Wildflowers and a rock cropping greet you at the summit, there are some nice views, but the ones you have along the way up are the camera worthy ones!
