Very hot day but thankfully a large part of this trail is shaded. Would still recommend visiting earlier in the morning or later in the early evening to avoid the strong sun! Lots of weeds and foxtails lining the trails (no dogs allowed and probably not the best trail for our fur friends anyway), but the trail itself is pretty clear. Bring lots of water and sunscreen! Poles came in handy for the downhill parts. Steady climb upwards for the first five miles until we reached the summit but the bulk of the trail in the middle had some tree coverage. Overall great hike and would visit again on a cooler day!
