We knew it was a warm day so we wanted to start our hike on the earlier side. 5 of us met at the Woodside/280 Carpool Lot and then carpooled to the Rhus Ridge Drive parking lot. We were the fourth car to arrive a bit before 8 am on a Friday.
The beginning of the uphill to the summit through the wooded section was nice. As soon as the trail became more exposed, we could start feeling the heat more and more. The exposed uphill sections were a great workout. Carrying a heavier pack, I had to stop a few times before continuing on.
Since this was my last peak of the challenge, the views at the summit were not as satisfying. I would suggest others to do this hike earlier and save some of the other peaks for later to soak in the better views of the Bay Area. The downhill was much more exposed in the sun on all parts so I strongly suggest an early start to avoid the sun
